Jessica Kahal is a flutist who embraces the independent, the experimental, and also the DIY. Having revived a number of traditional tunes and making them modern, she surely has created a special place for herself in the hearts of music lovers not just in America, but all around the world.
Starting her journey in the world of music at a young age, Jessica Kahal always stood out because of her exceptional flute playing skills. When she was in high school, she went on tour with the school’s choir to Washington DC, New York City, and Philadelphia. The experience gave her the confidence to perform in front of a wider audience. As part of the choir, she was in the Woman’s Jazz Chorus, called “Here Comes Treble,” and performed at the Kennedy Center as part of a special invitation.
Some of the other memorable music performances in Jessica Kahal’s career include her performance with her high school orchestra during their winter concert at the Armstrong Theater. Besides that, performing with her high school choir in a candlelight memorial for the September 11th attacks is also very close to her heart. During this emotional event, she performed “Danny Boy” in a solo flute performance as a tribute to those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks a year prior.
